Standing Order 43 permits the Speaker to interrupt the Business of the County Assembly at 5.00pm to allow Members make general statements of topical concern. A Member wishing to make such statement must seek approval of the Speaker in writing before 3.00pm. Standing Order 41 also allows the Leader of the Majority Party or Minority Party to make statements in the Assembly regarding their responsibilities. Standing Order 44(c) accords members an opportunity to request for a statement from Committee chairpersons relating to matters under the mandate of the Committee.
